'Record feedback' on Marina

THE proposed Ocean Reef Marina has generated unprecedented interest, with the City of Joondalup receiving almost 12,000 submissions during the community consultation period.

Mayor Troy Pickard said the number of submissions could be a record for a consultation by a local government in WA.

“The City of Joondalup received 11,728 returned surveys during the consultation period for the proposed Ocean Reef Marina and extra staff were needed to deal with the large number returned,” he said.

“An analysis of the feedback is currently under way and a detailed report on the findings will be presented to the council.

“The City has received positive feedback from the State Government on this proposal and the Premier has indicated a keen interest in the project and he is looking forward to reviewing the results of the community consultation.”
