At the Beach – Summerset Festival Closing Concert

Date: Saturday 13 February 2010
Time: 7pm to 9:30pm
Venue: Scarborough Amphitheatre, The Esplanade Scarborough

FREE EVENT

‘At the Beach’ is a free event which will include exclusive and intimate entertainment…free, fabulous fun for everyone! The event will finish with an explosion of fireworks to celebrate three colourful weeks of festival fun!

Perth boy Carus Thompson will be firing up the stage with his reggae, bluesy tunes setting the scene for Noiseworks lead singer Jon Stevens. Noiseworks were one of Australia's more successful rock bands of the late 1980s and the City of Stirling are presenting this great act to you as part of our Summerset Festival.

Jon Stevens has led a varied and remarkable career. Noiseworks became a mainstream success in Australia in October 1986 after the release of their debut single No Lies. A radio-friendly song, it soon charted and reached #16 in the ARIA chart. Their second single Take Me Back reached Number Three. Their self-titled debut album reached #1 and stayed in the charts for a massive 63 weeks.

So, whether it’s after a swim at the beach, after a meal at any of the delicious eateries or simply something different for the family to do on a warm summer evening - come down and celebrate Summerset Festival 2010.

UWA Perth International Arts Festival

The UWA Perth International Arts Festival is the oldest annual international multi-arts festival in the southern hemisphere.

Annually it offers some of the world's best theatre, music, film, visual arts, street arts, literature and free community events. No single art genre, concert, performance or exhibition series can cover the breadth of intellectual and imaginative territory as the Perth Festival, nor reach as broadly into the community. For two generations of locals, summer in Perth without the Festival is simply unimaginable.

For over 50 years the Festival has welcomed to Perth some of the world's greatest living artists. The three week long festival, in February of each year, attracts more than 300,000 patrons to events in Perth as well as in the Great Southern region.

The UWA Perth International Arts Festival is a captivating and intriguing spectacle of the arts, a truly compelling experience for visitors from all walks of life.
